Living Room Furniture Coffee Table - Wood - Brown 6068
Discover timeless beauty with the Mulyoharjo Coffee Table, crafted by expert artisans and offered by a leading furniture supplier known for quality and design.
The iconic Petala coffee table is a design work by Jorge Zalszupin from 1959 and produced by his company, L'atelier. It was made of solid exotic "cocobolo" wood and laminated in the shape of petals. Zalszupin focused not only on the rationalization of design, but above all on the acquisition and use of new technologies and materials to enable mass production. The focus on new technologies and materials marked the path to the aesthetic freedom he desired, and the solid laminated wood allowed the designer to create the desired curves without having to engage in lengthy and expensive manual processes. Modern shape, clean lines, simplicity and sensuality are the characteristics of most of his creations. The table is available in three versions, composed of wooden rhombuses laminated on a steel structure. The version presented in this offer is made of cocobolo wood, and in separate versions made of rosewood and exotic pau ferro. The pieces consist of eight rhombuses and are in very good restored condition. The original L'atelier label has been preserved on the underside of the table top. Cocobolo is an exotic wood from Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Nicaragua that is popular for its diverse uses. It is often chosen for the production of custom billiard cues, exquisite furniture, inlays and musical instruments. It is characterized by high durability and strength, with a delicate texture or unique pattern. Its beautiful color, which ranges from dark red to reddish brown, combined with its irregular grain pattern, gives it a unique appearance. Cocobolo is also appreciated for its fantastic performance properties, making it an ideal material for turning and carving.
